Across Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset, thousands of people are living with tinnitus, often without access to the support they need.
- South WestEngland has the highest prevalence of tinnitus in the country
- Rural communities face limited transport and patchy connectivity
- Many people are left isolated, anxious, and without clear support pathways
- NHS services oftendon’thave anywhere to refer people for ongoing support
Without support, peoplewith tinnitusarestrugglingin silence, feelinglonelyand unheard.
Thanks tofunding from the National Lottery Community Fund,we’rebuilding a new network of tinnitus support across theSouth West, creating spaces where people feelunderstood, supported, and more in controlof their tinnitus.
Thisincludes:
- Tinnitus UK events in local communities(starting with Poole and Exeter )
- Training for volunteer support group leaders
- Ongoing advice, resources, and expert support
This support will help individuals feel less isolated and more confident, provide practical strategies to manage their tinnitus, strengthen social connections, andultimately empowerthem to live full, meaningful lives once again.
But we need your help togrow this network.
We’rerecruiting new Support Group Leaders across the UK, starting in theSouth West.
You don’t need to be an expert on tinnitus. What matters is lived experience, empathy, and a willingness to bring people together. You’llbe part of something which genuinely changes people’s lives.
You could:
- Help host an online session
- Be part of a growing network of support
- Or simply attend and connect with others who understand whatyou’regoing through.
This is your chanceto make sure no onein Dorset, Devon or Cornwallfaces tinnitus alone.
