About the Role

Thanks to funding, Action for Children is launching new employability programmes in London for the very first time, opening exciting opportunities in an area where many young people face barriers to employment.

Our service supports those who need it most, including care‑experienced young people, individuals with SEND, refugees and asylum seekers, those facing homelessness, and young people living in poverty. Through personalised support, the programme connects participants with training, apprenticeships, and real career opportunities, helping them to progress into education, training and employment.

Across all programmes you will build trusted relationships with young people, deliver engaging learning experiences, and provide tailored support to help them overcome barriers and achieve positive, sustained outcomes.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Employment Facilitator to deliver a range of impact‑oriented employability and early‑intervention programmes for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds across London.

As part of a dynamic set of youth programmes, you will work with young people from Year 10 through to age 25, delivering 1:1 coaching, group workshops, accredited training and industry‑led experiences.

How you’ll help to create brighter futures

  • Deliver high‑quality, engaging group sessions tailored to young people aged 16–18.
  • Manage a caseload of young people using a key‑worker approach and provide targeted interventions to support their entry into the world of work.
  • Facilitate employability‑focused activities.
  • Build positive professional relationships with corporate partners, employers, training providers, education establishments and external agencies.
  • Coordinate programme delivery alongside volunteers.
  • Track and monitor participant progress through reports.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings, employment forums, site visits with employers and training providers.

Let’s talk about you, ideally you will have:

  • Experience working with young people aged 15–25, particularly those facing barriers to education or employment.
  • Experience delivering group work, training or employability programmes.
  • Strong understanding of youth development, employability and progression pathways.
  • Ability to engage and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working in partnership with employers or external stakeholders (desirable).
  • A qualification in Youth Work, Careers Guidance, Social Care or equivalent.

What You’ll Bring

  • Passion for improving outcomes for young people.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Organised approach to case management and programme delivery.

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

At Action for Children, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. We actively encourage applications from Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic and disabled candidates as they are under‑represented within Action for Children. We want to take deliberate and purposeful action to ensure equal opportunity for all groups in society and for Action for Children. Male staff are under‑represented in our Children Service roles, and we would like to encourage more male applicants for these roles.

This role requires a DBS/disclosure check.
