Role
As the first Founding AI Engineer hire, you will join a small, ambitious team to help define and build advanced AI systems that can reason across structured scientific and engineering problems, such as geometry, mathematics, biology, and hardware design.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI reasoning systems for structured scientific and engineering problems
- Develop models for advanced reasoning across domains such as geometry, mathematics, biology, and hardware
- Collaborate on technical direction, system architecture, and production engineering
- Work with multimodal AI approaches combining symbolic, geometric, and textual reasoning
- Build scalable infrastructure and tooling for advanced AI workflows
Key Skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical problem-solving abilities
- Programming experience in Python and C++
- 2+ years experience
- Experience with PyTorch and scientific computing libraries
- Background in building and maintaining technically complex systems
- Knowledge of machine learning systems
- Ability to thrive in fast-moving and ambiguous environments
- Curiosity for scientific, computational, or systems-level challenges
- Interest in AI applications beyond language models
Nice to have
- Expertise in scientific machine learning
- Experience with geometry or graph-based reasoning
- Knowledge of simulation systems
- Understanding of hardware-aware machine learning
- Systems engineering or compiler/tooling development
- Distributed computing or infrastructure experience
