Test Architect, Belfast (Outside IR35)

Overview

Ocho is delighted to be working on behalf of our client to appoint a Test Architect to join a modern engineering function operating within a continuous delivery environment.

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping test architecture, automation strategy and engineering quality standards across a large-scale technology environment.

You will take ownership of strategic test frameworks, influence engineering best practice and work closely with architects, developers and release teams to build scalable, high-quality automated testing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across test frameworks, automation strategy and testing methodologies
• Design, build and maintain scalable automated testing solutions
• Drive the adoption of modern testing tools, frameworks and engineering practicesAnalyse automation requirements, monitor test outcomes and improve reporting visibilityEmbed testability throughout the software development lifecyclePartner with Development Architects, Product Architects and Engineering teams to improve test coverage and delivery qualityDevelop testing solutions across unit, component, integration, acceptance and non-functional testingIdentify tooling and process improvements while championing engineering standards and best practice

  The Person We Are Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience designing scalable automation frameworksDeep understanding of testing methodologies and modern software engineering principlesExperience with design patterns, refactoring and object-oriented designPassion for software testing and delivering high-quality engineering solutionsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityAbility to influence technical direction and work independently across complex challengesExperience operating within agile, continuous delivery environmentsDegree qualified in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience
