Job overview
This full‑time, 12‑month fixed term position (starting September 2026) supports the University College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s (UCLH) high‑quality medical education programme while maintaining clinical practice in ENT.
Main responsibilities
- Support educational leads and the UCL medical school by administering and delivering undergraduate teaching (approximately 30% of time). This includes bedside teaching, small‑group tutorials and classroom lectures.
- Conduct research under the supervision of the UCL professorial unit (approximately 20% of time), including study design, data collection, analysis and dissemination.
- Provide a supervised clinical service to patients, delivering general ENT clinical and surgical care (approximately 50% of time). Service load may vary during academic terms and holidays.
Qualifications / Education
- MRCS or equivalent otolaryngology training
- Qualification in education or teaching
Professional / Statutory Registration
- Eligible for full GMC registration at the time of appointment and holding a current licence to practise
- Experience in bedside teaching, small‑group tutorials and classroom lectures
- Experience of medical audit
- Proficient clinical and surgical expertise across general otolaryngology
- Demonstrated commitment to education and training
