We are excited to introduce an opportunity as a Clinical Research Education Facilitator, a pivotal role designed to enrich our research infrastructure and foster engagement within our clinical workforce. As a Clinical Research Education Facilitator, you will play a vital role in delivering an innovative education program aimed at enhancing research competencies across our organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to support an educational program tailored to the needs of our research community, including principal investigators and pre- and post-registration research nurses and research delivery staff. We are seeking a dynamic individual with a background in clinical research and a passion for education. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a knack for curriculum delivery, and the ability to inspire and motivate others. You’ll thrive within our nurturing, collaborative, and exceptional workforce comprising over 160 dedicated professionals. Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will collaborate with a proficient leadership and delivery team. The will:

  • Support the delivery of the Research and Development Education Project
  • Support the development of our Research Infrastructure, through engagement with the Research Competencies
  • Engage the wider clinical areas in Research awareness and education
  • Support the advancement of clinical nurses by delivering a Research Education package tailored specifically to their needs
  • Collaborate closely with the Research and Development Leadership team, the Regional Research Delivery Network and the clinical care teams

The Post Holder Will

  • Further develop practice assessors and preceptors within their roles
  • Provide direct advice and support to learners ensuring communication to other health and education personnel who are involved
  • Support research delivery staff to engage with the Research Delivery Competency Framework
  • Communicate with internal and external colleagues involved with education provision
  • Where appropriate be an active team member with the recruitment process of learners
  • When required represent NBT at external meetings and feedback to appropriate Lead
  • Facilitate and present as required at NBT local induction sessions
  • Ensure there are robust processes and systems in place for the evaluation of Research Delivery Competency Framework.

Person specification

Education/Training/QualificationsEssential criteria

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife
  • Relevant post-registration qualification or equivalent relevant experience

Desirable criteria

  • Recognised teaching, assessing qualification

Work Experience

Essential criteria

  • Relevant post-graduate experience
  • Recent significant experience in Clinical Research Delivery
  • Experience of autonomous working and decision-making skills

Desirable criteria

  • Recent experience in assessing and supervising nursing students
  • Recent experience of teaching learners in a formal setting

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • The NMC code of conduct, Application of Research and Audit
  • GCP
  • Awareness of Research Delivery Competency Framework
  • IT literate with the ability to develop process and evaluation tools, producing reports as required

  • Effective verbal and written communication
