Job Overview

Salary: up to £52,500 per annum plus bonus, car allowance and Veolia benefits. Hours: 40 hours per week. Location: Remote, with occasional travel and overnight stays when required.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist in the sales stage of projects, ensuring that conceptual design and tender preparation documents are provided within required timescales and quality standards.
  • Translate and develop conceptual designs into turnkey projects that meet the functional and contractual specifications of secured orders.
  • Produce project‑specific electrical designs for power generation and industrial installations, including earthing systems, protection systems, cable sizing and fault studies, and generate appropriate drawings and documentation.
  • Produce specifications, calculations and undertake component selection.
  • Produce project‑specific scope of works specifications to obtain competitive installation quotations.
  • Liaise with Mechanical Design Engineers, the CAD team and the EC&I team to identify project requirements and develop detailed design.
  • Provide practical on‑site support for Project Managers as required during installation, commissioning and testing.
  • Provide design input into new technologies as required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Combined Heat & Power industry or similar power generation technology such as diesel standby or STOR/Capacity market.
  • Knowledge of heat pumps and their electrical requirements.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems.
  • Designing of power systems ensuring compliance with BS7671.
  • Proficient in designing LV distribution systems.
  • Undertake discrimination studies and subsequent provision of protection system design and settings.
  • Review of existing and design of additional earthing systems to comply with BS7671/7430.
  • Experience in specifying and ordering LV equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience in installation techniques with low‑voltage systems including earthing practices.
  • Experience in designing cable management systems.
  • An understanding and appreciation of HV systems.
  • Proficient in designing control systems including digital, analogue and safety‑critical interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D(LT), AutoCAD Electrical, Trimble Pro Design and ETAP.
  • Hold a recognised professional qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Hold a current full valid driving licence.
