Salary: £42,000 – £46,000 pa dependent on experience.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a Quality Manager who will lead a team of quality controllers within our facility. The primary focus will be to ensure that all products achieve the highest standards of food safety and meet a wide range of customer specifications.

This is a hands‑on role where your presence in the factory will ensure we continue to drive a culture of continuous improvement and keep the customer at the forefront.

You should have worked in a similar manufacturing environment and have at least 3 years of experience managing a team.

Sponsorship will only be considered for candidates who already have a valid VISA and who have worked at this level previously within the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of QA staff in their day‑to‑day work across all departments.
  • Stand in for the Technical Manager when required.
  • Through visible leadership, ensure a positive quality culture, continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Contribute ideas for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all quality systems.
  • Support the development and introduction of all new products, including the effective execution of trials and taste panels.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Monitor and update improvement plans for customer complaints and non‑conformances.
  • Provide technical support to the hygiene team and production teams.

Essential attributes and skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team in a similar environment in the UK.
  • Degree in food science or equivalent with experience of HACCP, traceability and general food safety, or equivalent on‑the‑job experience.
  • Experience within a BRC food production/manufacturing site in the UK.
  • Strong communication skills and the assertiveness to challenge others where necessary.
  • Strong work and team ethic, able to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Auditing skills.
  • Analytical problem‑solving skills.
