Electrical Design Engineer

NES Fircroft are partnering with our major Engineering & Services client to provide an Electrical Design Engineer for a major Nuclear project. Long-term project with potential for 3+ years work. Mon-Fri minimum 37hrs per week over 4.5 days. Hybrid working available 3 days in Warrington office per week.

Overview of the Senior Control Systems Design Engineer

To work within the end client’s design team delivering, supporting others delivering and checking electrical design packages to meet safety, functional and business needs.

Essential

• Academic Qualification: Minimum – HNC
• Professional Qualification: Minimum – Incorporated Engineer
• Proven experiencesuccessfully delivering as an Electrical Design Engineer on external multidiscipline projects, from concept design through to handover, with a working knowledge of the appropriate Engineering Standards governing the following works:
  • Electrical Supply Infrastructure: Small power, lighting and earthing
• Experience Generating:
  • Small power cable calculations, both by hand and using Trimble ProDesign (Amtech).
  • Lighting calculations, both by hand and using DIALux evo.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey information to other team members/disciplines
• Providing support to Construction
• Providing support to Commissioning
• Willingness to support early career engineers

Desirable

• Engineering Standards governing the following works:
  • Electrical Supply Infrastructure: Small power, lighting and earthing
  • Process Instrumentation
  • Radiometric & Special Instruments
• Valid SC clearance would be beneficial, however, potential for this to be obtained upon offer of contract.
