Team Description
Due to continuous demands for our expertise, we are expanding our Engineering Consultancy team and seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our market‑leading technical asset management team on a full‑time permanent basis. The successful candidate will focus on commercial buildings and deliver a range of M&E Asset Engineering services, including Technical Due Diligence, Dilapidations, M&E Audits, Technical/Condition Surveys and PPM/Life Cycle Costing to a variety of clients. This role is client‑facing and requires excellent communication skills, teamwork, reliability, flexibility and initiative. The candidate must work well under pressure to tight deadlines and adapt to changing client and market requirements.
Role Summary
This opportunity is for an Associate/Senior Engineer within a team of 15 professionals in London’s West End, part of a larger department offering building consultancy advice. The role involves working with internal and external investors and occupier clients, ranging from international speculative investors to large PLC corporates and national/international investment funds. Responsibilities include defect diagnosis, technical surveys, planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules, negotiations, maintenance auditing and delivering building surveying instructions profitably and on time. Work may require UK and European travel to support the wider team.

Responsibilities
- Implement and deliver professional building services engineering within the Building Consultancy team through a varied range of building services instructions.
- Take responsibility for managing client and project teams to deliver high‑quality, timely building services instructions profitably.
- Deliver surveys and reports from inception to completion with minimal supervision, meeting instruction objectives and company policies.
- Survey and report to include, but not be limited to: technical due diligence reviews of buildings for vendors, investors and occupiers, coordination of specialist consultancy reports, PPM inspections and reporting, sustainability advice and Net Zero/Decarbonisation strategy, schedule of dilapidations, support to negotiate dilapidations settlements, provisional assessment reports for occupiers, asset verification and life‑cycle plans, tender process and contract administration of refurbishment projects, compliance with T&T PJM/CBRE policies and Quality Management Procedures.
- Contribute positively to the wider Building Surveying business plan and revenue targets.
- Develop client relationships with existing customers and explore future business opportunities.
- Identify business opportunities for Engineering Consultancy delivered as part of Asset Engineering services or standalone.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential – Experienced Asset Engineering Engineer (Building Services) ideally with technical asset management skills and understanding of design; qualified to at least HNC/HND level.
Desirable – Relevant Mechanical or Building Services Engineering degree or equivalent; Chartered status desirable.

Experience
Essential – Experience working within an engineering or property consultancy team with a focus on building services; sound understanding of mechanical, electrical, life safety and public health installations and ability to assess their condition; experience managing technical specialist contractors.
Desirable – Network of M&E supply chain and industry contacts; significant experience within the commercial M&E industry.
