Job Description: Our Controls Team within the Infrastructure & PMO Operating Unit leads in delivering Controls Analytics solutions across Cost, Risk, Planning, and Performance Controls for large-scale infrastructure and capital projects. We enable clients to make data-led decisions by combining advanced analytics with project controls and governance.
Role: Controls Analytics Project Director to spearhead high-impact analytics initiatives and lead a team delivering transformative project and programme controls solutions. Shape strategic controls frameworks and analytics methodologies at project and programme levels, ensuring PMO functions are managed with data-backed precision. You will collaborate with senior executives and multidisciplinary teams to enhance project performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and governance of controls analytics solutions on complex infrastructure projects, with strategic oversight and operational leadership to manage risks, control costs, and drive decision-making.
- Strategic Leadership in Controls Analytics: develop and execute a comprehensive controls analytics and back-office strategy for large-scale projects; oversee analytics across cost, schedule, risk, benefits realization, change control and commercial management; align with client objectives and industry best practices.
- Project Controls Governance & Compliance: define and implement governance structures and compliance frameworks to ensure consistent application across projects, programmes and PMOs; ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Advanced Analytics & Reporting Oversight: direct creation and integration of analytics models to drive predictive insights; oversee dashboards and reporting tools; develop KPIs and metrics to track progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Risk & Contingency Management Leadership: lead integration of risk analytics into project controls; quantify risk impacts, develop contingency plans, and support proactive management.
- Change Management: conceptualise and develop Change Management analytics and scenario modelling integrated with PMO functions, enabling governance and tracking of change performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Communication: foster relationships with client executives and project stakeholders; translate insights into actionable strategies; facilitate workshops and knowledge-sharing; serve as escalation point for controls issues.
- Team Development & Mentorship: build and mentor a high-performing controls analytics team; establish career paths and growth opportunities; promote cross-functional collaboration; support business development and opportunity management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as AACE, PMI-PMP, MSP Practitioner, APM, or RICS are highly desirable.
- Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in project, programme and PMO delivery and controls, or analytics leadership within infrastructure, construction, or energy sectors.
- Consultancy experience, ideally with a tier one firm.
- Proven track record leading project controls and analytics initiatives for high-value, complex projects and programmes.
- Experience building and managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering data-driven solutions at the executive level.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Leadership & Strategic Vision: ability to direct, inspire teams, and influence senior stakeholders with a clear vision for controls analytics in P3 and PMO management.
- Analytical Expertise & Technical Acumen: expertise in complex data analysis, predictive modelling, cost forecasting, and trend identification; proficiency with controls software (Power BI, PRISM, Primavera, Aconex) and data tools (Python, SQL).
- Project Controls Mastery: deep understanding of cost management, schedule performance, risk management, and Earned Value Management; ability to design integrated controls frameworks.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: ability to engage executive stakeholders and present complex analytics insights clearly; strong presentation and negotiation skills.
