Overview

Investec – Where Out of the Ordinary Happens. Investec is a leading international bank and wealth manager built on curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit and human connection. This role is for an Organisation Development (OD) Consultant who collaborates with People & Organisation and Global Strategy teams to deliver high-impact, multi-disciplinary work across jurisdictions.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop a range of organisational development activities and interventions aimed at improving the overall effectiveness of the organisational system.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Committee (Exco) to design and implement an OD plan for the organisation.
  • Consult with key stakeholders across the organisation, managing the portfolio of work.
  • Prioritise the promotion of Investec’s culture and the transformational agenda of the organisation.
  • Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer to ensure the OD function supports the organisation’s group strategy.
  • Support the development of a learning culture, helping the organisation become more adaptive, reflective, and human-centered.
  • Work alongside other P&O consultants and Strategy teams to integrate OD into broader transformation efforts.

Experience, skills and capability

  • Strong grounding in Edgar Schein’s Process Consulting approach: Humble inquiry, relationship-first consulting and joint diagnosis and emergent intervention.
  • Systems thinking – ability to see patterns across levels (individual, team, culture, system).
  • Group process facilitation—sensitivity to dynamics, energy, resistance, and flow.
  • High emotional intelligence—ability to track both spoken and unspoken signals.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, emergence, and not knowing—staying present without rushing to fix.
  • Ability to build trust quickly and hold complexity without judgment.

What are we looking for?

  • Undergraduate qualification in Organisational, Social, or Clinical Psychology with knowledge of organisational behaviour, group dynamics, and unconscious processes.
  • Master’s degree (preferred) in psychology or behavioural sciences related to organisations (e.g., Organisation Development/Design, Counselling Psychology, Coaching Psychology).
  • Strong grasp of Systems Theory for organisational effectiveness.
  • Skilled in interpretive, thematic analysis (not reliant on quantitative toolkits).
  • Demonstrable OD consultancy experience in complex commercial environments.
  • Knowledgeable in Social and Organisational Psychology, and Organisation Development.
  • Process Consultation expertise.
  • Proficient at diagnosing organisational issues and performance barriers.
  • Experience designing and facilitating OD interventions.
  • Familiarity with Investec’s strategy, structure, values, and culture.
  • Strong consulting, communication, interpersonal, and budgeting skills.
