Overview

An established and respected law firm in London is seeking a talented and dedicated Public Law Care Solicitor to join its thriving Family Law team. The firm is recognised in both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for its excellence in public children law and remains committed to providing high-quality representation in both legal aid and privately funded cases.This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated solicitor to work within a supportive, busy practice that values advocacy skills, teamwork, and client-focused legal service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of public law children matters, including:
    • Care proceedings
    • Emergency protection orders
    • Supervision orders
    • Special guardianship applications
  • Conduct advocacy in the Family Court and liaise directly with counsel, experts, and guardians.
  • Work on private law children matters where required.
  • Maintain excellent standards of client care and legal file management.
  • Ensure compliance with legal aid regulations and funding processes.
  • Work efficiently in a collaborative team environment, meeting court deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Use legal technology and case management systems effectively.

Key Skills and Experience

  • UK-qualified Solicitor with 1 – 2years PQE (guideline – all levels considered based on experience).
  • Demonstrable experience in public law care proceedings and strong knowledge of Children Act matters.
  • Confident advocate with proven experience in representing clients in court.
  • childcare solicitor who is working towards Children Panel membership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple cases to tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in digital case management systems and general IT tools.
  • A team player with a passion for access to justice and high-quality client service.
