Children’s Home Manager

Location: Bristol

Reports to: Responsible Individual & Children’s Services Operations Manager

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

Job Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced OFSTED Registered Manager to take overall responsibility for the management and leadership of a new children’s home. The successful candidate will lead the home in providing a safe, caring, and nurturing environment that promotes the social, emotional, and physical development of children, underpinned by trauma-informed and PACE principles. You will act as a role model for both staff and children, ensuring the highest safeguarding standards are embedded in practice. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the home in line with Children’s Homes Quality Standards, Regulations, and SCCIF.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are reported to the RI and that Reg 40 notifications to Ofsted are timely and accurate.
  • Maintain an Ofsted rating of “Good” or above.
  • Oversee all administrative and quality assurance functions, including R44, R45, and Annexe A requirements.
  • Manage the home’s budget effectively.
  • Recruit, supervise, and develop staff to ensure high-quality care delivery.
  • Support the design and review of care policies and procedures.
  • Ensure training and CPD needs are identified and met for all staff.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and act as part of the senior management team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Working towards or holding a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Children & Young People’s Workforce.
  • At least 2 years’ supervisory experience in a children’s residential care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and Ofsted regulations.
  • Proven leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
