The purpose of the role: we are seeking an exceptional and highly skilled freelance bar manager to oversee the delivery and execution of our events in multiple sites across London. The successful candidate will have at least one year’s experience in a management role within the hospitality and bar management sector. As a freelance bar manager, you will be responsible for a successful delivery of our client’s events, including client liaison and team management. Experience in front‑of‑house management is essential, along with a strong eye for detail and consistent presentation. Your performance will be monitored by regular manager audits, meetings agreed event timeframes, achieving excellent guest satisfaction/feedback and employee quality and retention through positive onsite interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an efficient bar and stock room.
- Supervise bar staff with the ability to motivate the team.
- Responsible for safe and secure handling of bar stocks, till operation and cash.
- Ensure strict compliance with the venue’s Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy.
- Place stock orders.
- Interact with customers (including serving food and drink) and ensure that high standards of customer service are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Till and counter service.
- Support hospitality services and events.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in your area of concern.
- Maintain food safety and health and safety to meet legal and company requirements.
- Hazard and defect reporting.
- Lead and train staff with a positive “can do” attitude.
- Multi‑task and work in a busy, fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with a confident and outgoing personality and an ability to interact with people at all levels.
