About The Role

We are seeking an Initial Assessment Officer to join our Housing team. This role will involve seeing applicants who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and you will be responsible for connecting them into the homelessness service.

Responsibilities

  • See applicants who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • Review information from applicants, advocates and other professionals.
  • Make appropriate and robust decisions based on the information.
  • Draft decisions that may be subjected to judicial scrutiny.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation relating to homelessness and housing needs, including the Housing Act 1996.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service to service users within a housing context.
  • Excellent written skills.
