Purpose of the role
Senior Wealth Planner – responsible for establishing and nurturing profitable partnerships with corporate and individual clients, acting as the bridge between the bank’s offerings and the clients’ needs to ensure mutual benefit and long‑term success.
Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance.
- Support analysis of data from investment portfolios, cash flow, and other sources to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
- Research and understand the client’s industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
- Design customised solutions that address the client’s specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of bank products and services.
- Communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms that benefit both client and bank.
- Provide guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk‑management and wealth‑management strategies, and updates on market trends.
- Assess financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships and implement measures to minimise potential losses.
- Document all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency, auditability, and effective communication.
- Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.
Qualifications
- Financial planning qualification at RDR Level 4 or above, including certification in advising on packaged products.
- Experience offering personalised planning and investment advice with a solid understanding of financial markets, products and regulations.
- Proficiency in using digital tools to support client conversations and thoughtful communication that builds trust.
- A careful approach to identifying and managing risk while maintaining high standards of compliance.
- Experience working with internal teams and external networks to grow client relationships.
- Broad knowledge of the financial services industry, especially retail regulated products and asset management.
- Familiarity with pensions, investment advice, and UK taxation.
- FCA‑approved status and experience managing risk within a client portfolio.
- Adaptability and curiosity in a fast‑changing environment.
- Regulatory requirement: role is certified under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority – may require the holder to maintain mandatory regulatory qualifications.
