Responsibilities
- Manage patients with glaucoma, providing surgical or non‑surgical care not currently offered by the department.
Appointment Details
- 5.00 PA appointment for up to two years covering a career break.
- Post based at Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT).
Essential Criteria
- Fellowship training or equivalent postgraduate training/experience in the management of patients with glaucoma.
- Medical degree, FRCOphth (or equivalent), CST in ophthalmology, specialist registration with the GMC.
- Evidence of leadership skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate research degree (MD, PhD, MSc).
- Publications and/or presentations of original clinical and/or laboratory research in ophthalmology.
- Publications and/or presentations of original clinical and/or laboratory research in glaucoma and research grant awards.
- Clinical audit experience and evidence of completion of a clinical audit cycle.
- Experience in formal and informal teaching and training; qualification in teaching/training.
- Able to work with team members of all grades within the NHS.
- Organisational skills and willingness to work flexibly towards the strategic aims of the organisation.
- Managerial experience, including a central role in competence‑based role development for non‑medical staff and patient care pathway development.
- Appropriate UK professional registration.
