An exciting opportunity for an ambitious Construction Professional Indemnity lawyer to join a well-established and growing insurance disputes practice in London.
This role sits within a highly regarded team that advises insurers, Lloyd’s market clients and construction professionals on a broad range of high-value and technically complex claims. The team continues to attract significant instructions and is looking to add another experienced lawyer to support its ongoing growth.
The Role
You will work on a varied caseload of professional negligence and coverage matters arising from construction projects across the UK and internationally. The work regularly involves claims against:
- Architects
- Engineers
- Design & Build contractors
- Quantity Surveyors
- Project Managers
- Specialist consultants and other construction professionals
Alongside defending negligence claims, you will advise insurers and insureds on policy coverage issues, notifications, reserve setting, claims strategy and risk management.
The team handles matters through all forms of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and negotiated settlement, offering exposure to some of the most significant disputes in the market.
What They’re Looking For
- 2+ years’ PQE
- Experience in Construction PI, professional negligence or insurance disputes
- Exposure to insurer-side work, whether in defence litigation or coverage matters
- Strong drafting, analytical and client management skills
- An interest in developing deeper expertise within the construction and insurance sectors
Construction PI experience is highly desirable, although candidates with broader professional indemnity or insurance litigation backgrounds will also be considered.
