We’re currently recruiting multiple Band 2 End of Life Care Healthcare Assistants to join our well‑established community team across Devon. Known for delivering compassionate, high‑quality care, our team has built a strong reputation for making a meaningful difference in the lives of people across the Devonshire community.

Work hours and contract

Hours: 22:00pm – 07:00am night shift.

Contract: Part‑time or Full‑time will be considered (minimum of 18 hours per week).

Salary: Band 2 £25,272 per annum, in line with NHS Agenda for Change (AFC) + enhancements and Marie Curie employee benefits package.

Locations: Community‑based within Devon.

Responsibilities

As a community‑based role, you will be responsible for planning your own work, responding to changes in patient conditions, prioritising care needs (including hygiene, nutrition and hydration, comfort, monitoring vitals, and more) as detailed in the personalised care plan and ensuring you escalate appropriately to senior staff within the multidisciplinary team in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent.
  • 6 months care delivery experience (current) in a Health or Social Care environment.
  • Hold a current and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle which includes business insurance.
  • Knowledge of palliative and end of life care.
  • Hold person centred conversations, communicate sensitively with the person and those important to them in a non‑judgmental, empathetic, supportive, and professional manner.
  • Participate in the assessment, care planning, review and evaluation of holistic care management plans within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Undertake risk assessments to support safe delivery of care.
