Children’s Residential Support Worker
Salary: £37,275.89 per annum (inclusive of sleeps), increasing to £37,803.79 per annum after a successful six-month probation period.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support, guidance and care to young people within the residential setting and community.
- Participate and engage in activities.
- Maintain a safe and clean home environment, including completion of all domestic duties and providing home‑cooked meals.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans, conduct risk assessments, and tailor key works to each young person’s needs.
- Lone work with the young person and professional bodies may be required.
- Foster positive relationships with team members and young people through effective communication.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of young people at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, reporting directly to your line manager any information or concern timely.
- Collaborate with team members and external professionals to support young people’s progress.
- Maintain accurate records on ClearCare of care activities, incidents and care plans.
- Promote a supportive and enjoyable environment.
- Adhere strictly to Ofsted standards, Children’s Act, and Children’s Care Standards.
Qualifications
- Level 4 qualification in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner or Level 3 Diploma in Children, Young People Workforce qualification.
- Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care considered favorable.
- Full UK driving licence required to drive young people to appointments, education, contacts and social events (company vehicles available).

Working Pattern
The role is based on a 3‑week rolling rota, calculated at 56.4 hours per week (sleeps included), equating to 1 day on, 2 days off (08:00 am – 11:00 pm + sleep). Sleep shifts are included in the annual salary and are guaranteed when on annual leave.
