Location: 68 Ard Na Va Road
We are actively recruiting a Relief Senior Support Worker to deliver exceptional resident care to individuals with a variety of mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
- Collaborate positively with residents who may present challenges.
- Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive, and resident‑accessible care plans.
- Encourage and support residents in managing their medication effectively.
- Help residents build skills and foster independence.
- Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, shopping, and household responsibilities.
- Assist in scheduling and accompanying residents to medical and personal appointments.
- Maintain accurate manual and electronic documentation.
- Ensure adherence to house rules to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Maintain open and positive communication with colleagues, residents, and visitors.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience working within a Mental Health Unit/Facility.
- Previous experience in a mental health environment with the necessary level of care.
- Empathetic, patient and compassionate in nature.
- Understanding of types of mental health illnesses and the level of care residents will require.
- Current and/or previous experience in a Mental Health support role within a Care Home environment.
- Familiarity with The Mental Health Order (1986) and its practical application.
- Understanding of current approaches to mental health care and treatment.
- Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) – desirable.
