The Ethox Centre is an internationally recognisable multidisciplinary bioethics research centre located within Oxford Population Health in the University of Oxford.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Researcher from the Humanities/ Social Sciences disciplines to join the Wellcome Trust funded discovery project “After the End: Lived experiences and aftermaths of Diseases, Disasters and Drugs in global health”.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the research objectives of the project, working closely with Professor Patricia Kingori and collaborators in the UK, Sierra Leone, South-East Asia and Brazil.
- Engage with key stakeholders including academic collaborators, external partners, fieldworkers and colleagues.
- Conduct literature reviews, qualitative interviews and research, and draft papers.
- Support the methodological and conceptual development of the research, adapting existing and developing new research methodologies.
- Manage academic time and administrative activities.
Qualifications
- Hold (or be close to completion of) a PhD/DPhil in a Social Science, Humanities or other relevant subject.
- Have experience and sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work effectively within the research programme.
- Possess the ability to work independently and have excellent communication skills.

- Full‑time (part‑time considered) fixed‑term contract for 2 years.
