About the role

Washwood Heath Multi Academy Trust has appointed Brownmead Primary Academy to offer a Receptionist/Office Administrator role – responsible for reception, administration and secretarial support within the busy school office.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide reception support and manage front‑desk communications with parents, pupils, visitors and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records, file documents and organise correspondence.
  • Assist the Head of Academy and Senior Leadership Team with day‑to‑day administrative tasks.
  • Support safeguarding duties, including completing enhanced DBS checks and complying with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policies.
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment and support well‑being initiatives.

Ideal candidate

  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Remains calm and positive under pressure.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive and reliable, using initiative to support senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Essential: fluent spoken English and a valid driving licence or non‑driving suitable first aid at the time of hire.
  • Essential: willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
  • Desirable: experience in a school administration setting.
