About the Role

Support Workers help people with learning disability, brain injury, or autism live independently and achieve their goals. Duties cover person‑centred support, housing assistance, skill development, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with supported individuals, maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Promote inclusion and engagement in the local community.
  • Deliver person‑centred support aligned with the individual’s portfolio to help them achieve goals.
  • Assist with housing responsibilities: managing tenancy agreements, shopping, meal preparation, cleaning, gardening, laundry, ironing.
  • Support independence, social and communication skills, ensuring individuals have choice and control.
  • Accurately maintain records and short reports in the service’s systems (behaviours, incidents, communication, risk assessment).
  • Use ICT systems (Microsoft Office, HR/Finance, support planner) to perform responsibilities.
  • Work within organisational policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience providing care or support for someone with a learning disability, brain injury, or autism.
  • Basic digital skills for recording notes and using rota, HR or care systems.
  • Full, valid driving licence and access to a appropriately insured vehicle (Class 2 business insurance) or ability to travel independently to meet the post requirements.
  • Enhanced Access NI Disclosure Check is required; a criminal record does not automatically disqualify.
