We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others.
You’ll be working full time, 42 hours a week, at Cygnet Kenney House, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care.
Cygnet Kenney House is our hospital for women, located in Oldham, providing a safe and secure care pathway for women with mental health needs. The facility is now open.
We have collaborated with the NHS to develop services to support women from the North West to be treated closer to home. There are three wards at Cygnet Kenney House: Billington Ward, a 12‑bed specialist Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU); Baldock Ward, a 16‑bed acute service; and Harben Ward, a 16‑bed mental‑health rehabilitation and recovery service.
Your Day‑to‑Day
- Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service.
- Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
- Maintain equipment, services and vehicles.
- Comply with safe working practices and report faulty equipment and potential hazards.
- Travel to other sites and, on occasions, be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours.
- Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights.
You are
- Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self‑employed capacity in recent years.
- Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
- Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed, accurate maintenance information.
- Skilled at DIY and general maintenance.
- Preferably experienced in the electrical, plumbing or construction industry.
- Friendly, conscientious and an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
