Positive Behaviour Support Worker

Location: ROSEWOOD, Cornford Lane, Pembury, Kent

Hours: 1 full‑time (40 hours) or 2 part‑timers (20 hours) with a rolling two‑week rota including early, late and weekend shifts.

Hourly Rate: £13.32 per hour.

About the Role

At Aspens, we support individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities and other physical disabilities across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Surrey and the London Borough of Bexley. As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) worker you will work closely with the PBS team to create and follow behavioural management strategies, source and establish activity plans, and support residents in achieving independence, both in daily living and community activities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the PBS team to develop and implement behavioural strategies tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Design and maintain activity planners that promote engagement and independence.
  • De‑escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Assist residents with daily activities and community outings (e.g., swimming, shopping, visits to places of interest).
  • Attend training sessions such as NAPPI and retain L3 accredited PBS qualifications.
  • Participate in regular supervision with a line manager and PBS specialist.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience working with people with learning disabilities or autism, including those who display behaviours of concern.
  • Level 3 PBS qualification or willingness to obtain it (requires at least L2 English and Maths).
  • Valid full UK driving licence and ability to drive a company vehicle.
  • Physically fit, resilient, and willing to try new activities.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude.
