Our apprenticeship provides valuable on‑the‑job training and experience combined with studying for several qualifications including Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician standard and Level 2 and 3 in papermaking.

About the Role

As a manufacturing apprentice, you will learn all aspects of the papermaking process to become a fully competent manufacturing operative at the end of the 3‑year apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Set up different machines.
  • Run the machine to create pulp that will be used to produce paper.
  • Complete quality and productivity checks.
  • Undertake routine maintenance while maintaining safety and reliability standards and working as part of a team.

The apprenticeship is initially a day‑based role, working Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm. At some point, you may be expected to work on shifts (6am – 6pm or 6pm – 6am).
