The Role
Worcestershire County Council’s Youth Voice team is guided by the motto “Nothing about You, without You”. This apprenticeship role provides a Worcestershire Care Leaver with an exciting opportunity to be part of the Youth Voice team, supporting young people to be actively involved in decision‑making that affects the lives of children and families across Worcestershire.
You will work alongside a Quality Assurance Officer and Development Mentor to enable young people across Worcestershire to share what works well, offer their views on how services could be improved, and shape future services.
Based in the Placements Team within the Children’s Commissioning Hub, your role will include:
- Planning and quality assuring external providers, ensuring the voices of children and young people across Worcestershire are heard.
- Supporting working relationships linked to participation groups.
- Supporting the development and delivery of services to professionals through commissioning practice.
- Enabling young people to make a positive contribution and shape services to improve outcomes for children and young people in Worcestershire.
- Involvement with support groups including Who Cares We Care, Action Speak Care Leavers group and Worcestershire Youth Cabinet.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Level 2 qualification or relevant experience and foundation English, and must be a Worcestershire Care Leaver.
