We are seeking a Technician to join our team. In this role you will, provide proactive support for high-quality curriculum delivery in Wood Occupations by maintaining safe, fully equipped workshops, preparing materials efficiently, and ensuring tools and resources are ready for teaching. This role underpins excellent learning experiences through teamwork, organisation, and high standards of workshop presentation.

About the role

  • Support teaching staff and students across all aspects of the wood occupation curriculum.
  • Prepare and organise materials efficiently to ensure lessons run smoothly.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and professional workshop spaces.
  • Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery, reporting any faults promptly.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and always promote best practice.
  • Keep your professional skills up to date and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Promote and uphold the College’s values, including Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Undertake any other related duties as required.
  • Practical industrial experience within a Woodrelated trade.
  • Experience with working effectively as part of a team.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety at Work and related issues.
  • Able to use emails and access mandatory training via ILT.
  • An understanding of ‘Safeguarding’ and its importance within the College.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 2 Wood Related Trades Qualification
  • GCSE’s Maths and English grade 9-4 or above or equivalent.

£27,070.68 to £27,859.52 per year

Permanent – Full-time
