Job Description Summary
This role involves supporting teaching staff to help pupils access learning and achieve their full potential. Working under the guidance of the teacher, the postholder provides targeted support to individuals and groups, including those with additional or special educational needs, both in and outside the classroom.
Key duties include assisting with learning activities, promoting pupil engagement, independence, and positive behaviour, and contributing to the development and implementation of individual learning and care plans. The role also involves preparing resources, monitoring pupil progress, and providing regular feedback to teachers.
In addition, the postholder supports classroom organisation, administrative tasks, and the wider school environment, including maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive setting. They are expected to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and other professionals, uphold school policies (including safeguarding), and contribute to the overall ethos and development of the school.
