Weekend Home Care Assistant
Location: Crewkerne and the surrounding areas
Hours: Part time hours – Weekends only
Shift Pattern: 07:00‑14:00 and 16:00‑22:00
Pay: £13.50 per hour plus travel time and petrol expenses
Role Overview
Care South, a leading not-for-profit charity, offers exciting opportunities for Home Care Assistants to join our Somerset Care at Home team, supporting clients with a variety of needs in their own homes across Somerset. This role is community-based, so applicants must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
As a Home Care Assistant with Care South, you will be paid for not just your contact time but also your travel time. We also pay a generous mileage rate of 40p per mile.

About You
- Previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not required
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Flexible in the hours you can work and able to work every other weekend
- Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Will hold an enhanced DBS or be prepared to undertake one
