The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning throughout the school day. Working closely with class teachers, you will help deliver engaging learning experiences while supporting pupils’ academic progress and wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum learning
  • Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups
  • Providing 1:1 support where required
  • Assisting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
  • Supporting classroom organisation and lesson preparation
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

About You

  • Have previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
  • Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrate a positive, patient, and proactive approach
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
  • Be confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
  • Have strong spoken English skills to effectively support pupils, including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL)
  • Have the right to work in the UK
