About the role

justteachers is recruiting a passionate and creative Music Teacher for a vibrant secondary school in the Leeds area. This full‑time role begins after the Easter break and continues through to the end of the academic year. You’ll join a supportive performing arts department and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students across KS3 and KS4.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach high‑quality Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ musical skills, creativity, and confidence.
• Prepare students for practical and theoretical assessments, including GCSE Music where applicable.
• Maintain strong behaviour management and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Track pupil progress and provide constructive feedback and intervention.

Pre-requisites

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Music in a UK secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge, including practical and theoretical music skills.
• Confident behaviour management and classroom control.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two school based references.
