Class 2 Driver – Commercial Waste Collections
Location: Tonbridge (TN9 1PP)
Assignment: Ongoing Temporary (Minimum 3 Months – Likely Longer)
Pay: £14.50 per hour (rising to £15.20 after 12 weeks)
The Role
Operating a rear-loader waste collection vehicle, collecting commercial waste from a range of customers. This includes handling 240L to 1100L bins. The role is primarily single-man operations following training. You will work efficiently to complete daily routes and provide reliable service.
Training
Full PPE and training will be provided. You will complete an initial 4-week buddy period, working alongside an experienced driver to learn routes and procedures.
Hours & Pay
Monday to Friday, 04:00am to 14:00pm with a 45-minute break. Guaranteed minimum of 8 hours pay per day. Optional overtime available at weekends.
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- Valid CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Digital tachograph card
- Good knowledge of UK road laws and driving regulations
- Physically fit as the role involves manual handling
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
Candidate Profile
Previous experience in waste collection is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided for the right person. We are looking for reliable, punctual individuals who are comfortable working independently after training and have a strong work ethic.
