Responsibilities
- To support a caseload of individuals who have experienced mental health problems with the aim of promoting good health, wellbeing and sustaining a tenancy within the community and maximising their independence
- To provide ongoing support and guidance to front line staff teams to enable them to manage behavioural concerns effectively
- To create plans which build an individual’s confidence and promote independence; to facilitate access to health and wellbeing services as required and provide community-based support
- To review incident data, provide feedback on this to staff teams, and to monitor and flag any changes in frequency, severity or duration of incidents to the Behaviour Lead
- To participate in the creation and review of risk assessment procedures, to protect and maintain the wellbeing of the person, community and team
- To participate in the creation and review of behaviour support plans, ensuring these are client and recovery focused, with clear behaviour management strategies in place
- Working collaboratively within the current clinical team, and external multi-disciplinary teams as required
- Monitor attainment against key performance indicator framework and outcome matrix
- To engage in ongoing supervision with the BCBA, to expand your own knowledge and understanding of behaviour analysis
- Promote the behaviour analytic framework across the organisation as a whole
- Such other duties as required by your manager and/or that fall within the scope of the position
Essential
- An excellent standard of verbal and written English
- A good standard of mathematics
- Experience of working within the health and social care sector, supporting those with a mental health condition for a minimum of 12 months
Desirable
- Qualification in Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Positive Behaviour Support or other relevant Health and Social Care area
- Experience of working with individuals with complex and/or challenging behaviours and/or individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder
Job Context
As a trainee PBS practitioner, you will work under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst/UKBA (cert). You will undergo training in the basic principles of behaviour analysis and learn about evidence-based behaviour intervention techniques.
We are not necessarily looking for someone with prior experience in the field, but instead looking for someone who is able to share the vision to do something different, and work proactively as part of a developing team. This role will use the Framework of Applied Behavioural Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support to actively enhance the quality of life of those people we support.
