Consultant Locum Gastroenterologist
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – Deliver high‑quality patient care at York Hospital for a fixed‑term 12‑month post.
Post: 10 programmed activities (PAs) over five days. Flexible staffing plans are available to suit sub‑specialty interests, teaching, research, or part‑time working.
Role will support both Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinics and patient care.
Job responsibilities
Support and deliver clinical services in Gastroenterology and Hepatology patient care.
Qualifications
- MRCP or equivalent qualification
- Full GMC registration with licence to practice
- Medical Degree
Desirable
- MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
- Substantive NHS experience
Eligibility & Fitness to Practice
- Eligible to work in the UK
Teaching and Supervision
- Experience in teaching and supervising medical students and junior trainees
Desirable for Teaching and Supervision
- Experience supervising SpRs/specialist trainees and higher teaching qualification
Research and Audit
- Experience of undertaking audits and presenting findings
- Able to critically review and apply research to clinical situations
Clinical practice/ competence
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience in Gastroenterology (+/- general medicine)
