Ofgem is the energy regulator for Great Britain (https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/about-us/working-ofgem).
Requirements of the role
Ofgem works on behalf of energy consumers to ensure every household and business in the UK can rely on a safe, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy supply. Following the recent government review of the regulator, these roles will play a central part in shaping our future direction as we undergo one of the most significant changes in how we work and regulate in two decades.
Job Description
You will play a key role in delivering major projects stemming from the Ofgem Review, supporting how the organisation evolves its regulatory approach and operations. Responsibilities include coordinating strategic activity, contributing to analysis and insight development, and supporting engagement with senior stakeholders. You will also help shape strategic outputs, including briefings, publications and recommendations that inform decision‑making. This is an opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive team environment, while also taking ownership of significant areas of work. You will be encouraged to bring new perspectives and contribute to innovative thinking that strengthens Ofgem’s impact.
Teams
These roles are based across two teams: Market Oversight and Enforcement (one fixed‑term position) and Strategy, Economics, Research and Net Zero (SERN) (three permanent positions), both working at the centre of Ofgem’s strategic development.
