Global Chemical Regulatory Affairs Leader

Title: Environmental Health & Safety Senior Manager – Functional Management (internal)

We are seeking a leader to ensure global regulatory compliance for a broad chemical portfolio across regions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure global regulatory compliance enabling business continuity and market access
  • Provide strategic direction on current and emerging chemical regulations aligning with industry expectations
  • Manage and develop a global regulatory team fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Prioritize and oversee regulatory workflows using structured project management and stage‑gate processes
  • Advise product line leaders, commercial teams, and R&D on regulatory requirements and product stewardship
  • Support new product introduction and business opportunities by assessing regulatory feasibility, environmental considerations, and long‑term compliance risks
  • Oversee preparation and maintenance of regulatory documentation, including SDS, product registrations, and compliance dossiers
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with supply chain, manufacturing, HSE, legal, and commercial teams to embed compliance into processes
  • Engage with global regulatory agencies and industry groups to represent the company and stay ahead of developments
  • Develop and implement training and awareness programs to strengthen regulatory knowledge organization‑wide
  • Drive standardization and best practices across regions to improve efficiency, transparency, and compliance performance
  • Create an approachable and solutions‑oriented environment that supports business while upholding regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Strong background in global chemical regulatory legislation within energy, oilfield chemicals, or industrial chemicals sector
  • Experience navigating complex, multi‑region regulatory frameworks (e.g., REACH, TSCA, BPR, FIFRA, K‑REACH, DSL)
  • Understanding of global supply chains and regulatory implications for chemical manufacturing, transport, and end‑use applications
  • Experience managing large and diverse chemical portfolios across multiple product lines and markets
  • Ability to interpret evolving legislation and translate requirements into practical business guidance
  • Experience engaging with government regulatory agencies, industry bodies, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership experience developing and managing high‑performing teams
  • Strong project management skills, managing competing priorities, regulatory submissions, and compliance timelines
  • Experience supporting commercial teams or business functions enabling compliant product introduction and market access
  • Track record of developing and delivering training programs to technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence across functions and regions
