The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability and security for the business. Technology provides digital tools, software services and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile streams aligned to specific business areas. Our other teams work enterprise-wide to provide critical services including our global service desk, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture and design.

Role Summary

The network team is responsible for designing, building, and operating our global network infrastructure that connects our offices, data centres, cloud environments, and remote users. They ensure secure, reliable, and high‑performing connectivity to support the needs of our rapidly growing business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a global team of network engineers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Own the end‑to‑end operation and stability of the global enterprise network, across data centres, cloud, offices and remote users.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure high network availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee and optimise network operations, including incident response, change management, monitoring, and proactive maintenance.
  • Architect and maintain a scalable, secure, and modern network.
  • Improve observability by leveraging tools for performance monitoring, fault detection, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with security and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment and integration across platforms.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, scalability initiatives, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure future‑proof infrastructure.
  • Support M&A integrations, including discovery, planning, and execution of network consolidation and onboarding strategies for newly acquired companies.
  • Standardise network tools, policies, and configurations across acquired entities to meet enterprise standards.
  • Manage relationships with network vendors, including renewals and cost/value optimisation initiatives.
  • Continuously improve network processes and capabilities through automation, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Serve as a key escalation point during critical incidents and participate in post‑incident reviews with actionable outcomes.
  • Provide network consultancy for different lines of business for new technical network requirements.
  • Ensure network projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet priorities.
  • Track and manage the overall network budget.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Model highest standards of integrity and conduct, reflecting company values.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Team management and leadership experience (minimum 5 years).
  • Previous experience working in the finance industry.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing large‑scale networks.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices related to networks.
  • Project management skills from inception to delivery.
  • Experience with global rollout of SASE, SSE solutions, Prisma Access, Zscaler.
  • Cloud network design and implementation experience (AWS, Azure).
  • Network automation, infrastructure‑as‑code, and Ansible.
  • Next‑gen Layer 7 firewalling, User‑ID, SSL decryption, network access control.
  • Relevant product knowledge – Palo Alto, Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Aruba (Wi‑Fi/Clearpass NAC).
  • Knowledge of WAN technologies: MPLS, IPSEC VPN, SD‑WAN, QOS, NAT.
  • Routing and switching protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Wi‑Fi, VLAN, multicast.
  • Experience designing and implementing WAN/Campus LAN, Internet, firewall, and DMZ.
  • Understanding of exchange connectivity (CME, SGX, ICE, Eurex, LME).
  • Experience working in a global organization with distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
  • ITIL v4 beneficial.
