Newcastle is a dynamic and growing core city. Our School Organisation and Infrastructure team has a strong track record, working with schools and trusts across Newcastle as well as with officers within Children and Families, other parts of the Council, the DfE and external partners on a wide range of school capital and other projects.
This is a varied role and the successful candidate will carry out a range of functions relating to school organisation, capital projects, pupil place planning, and school estate management. A key and growing area of work for the team is focused on provision for children and young people with special educational needs and making mainstream schools and settings more inclusive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a range of functions relating to school organisation, capital projects, pupil place planning and school estate management.
- Manage capital projects within timescales, budget constraints and quality requirements.
- Provide information and advice to school leaders and governors, senior officers, and elected members of the Council, engaging and effectively communicating with a variety of stakeholders.
Key Qualifications
- Experience managing capital projects within timescales, budgets and quality requirements.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
