SENIOR ARCHITECT OR SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Location: Head Office, Ascot

Ascot Design is growing and we are looking for a talented Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Designer to join our award‑winning team, working on front‑end design and planning application delivery (RIBA Stages 0–2).

We work on a wide range of exciting projects, primarily within the residential and mixed‑use sectors, ranging from small‑scale developments to large strategic schemes. We are passionate about creating architecture that is attractive, commercially aware and technically considered.

This role is ideal for a creative designer with strong residential sector experience and a passion for taking projects from concept through to planning submission.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading projects through RIBA Stages 0–2, shaping concepts from the outset
  • Developing layouts and bespoke house type designs
  • Producing high‑quality planning drawings, presentation material and design packages for outline, detailed and reserved matters applications
  • Undertaking site analysis to inform context‑driven proposals
  • Responding creatively to planning constraints, policy requirements and local character
  • Managing and coordinating the design process across multiple projects
  • Collaborating with clients, consultants and internal teams to develop cohesive design proposals
  • Managing and coordinating team members to meet project deadlines
  • Presenting schemes clearly and confidently in meetings, workshops and design discussions

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience in architectural design, primarily within the residential and mixed‑use sectors
  • Excellent spatial awareness and layout design skills
  • Creative thinking combined with a strong technical understanding of buildings and construction
  • Good understanding of UK planning processes and system
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation and client‑facing skills
  • A proactive, collaborative and team‑oriented approach
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Work on diverse and high‑profile projects
