Applications Engineer

Location: Sutton-in-AshfieldSalary: £49,000 per annum + Pension + HealthcareHours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per weekReporting to: Engineering Director

About the Role

We are looking for an Applications Engineer to join our growing Engineering team in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working closely with customers, manufacturing, and technical teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from understanding customer requirements through to design, documentation, testing, and project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, including drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and manuals.
• Act as a technical point of contact for customers and support project delivery.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer demonstrations.
• Work closely with manufacturing and procurement teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Maintain accurate project and engineering documentation.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and business management systems.

What We’re Looking For

• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience).
• Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
• Previous experience as an Applications Engineer, Design Engineer, or Project Engineer.
• AutoCAD experience.
• LV Switchgear experience
• Experience supporting FATs and producing O&M manuals.
