Job overview

We have an exciting 12 month Project Manager opportunity in the Women’s Health Division at University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in the Reproductive Medicine Unit. We are looking for an experienced operational leader who is passionate about quality, patient‑centred care and improving services who will plan and lead a range of complex projects related to establishment of new services, productivity, performance, service improvement and income generation.

The post holder will play an instrumental role in delivering the Reproductive Medicine Unit (RMU) operational and strategic projects including the development of NHS and private IVF services and delivery of Fertility Preservation. They will monitor and track progress of project deliverables and work with clinical teams, administrators, managers and the Trust strategy team to develop service models and lead on the redesign and implementation of new and existing patient pathways.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will work closely with the General Manager, Quality Manager, Lead Andrologist, Lead Embryologist, Clinical Leads, Matron and a wide range of stakeholders within the Division and Trust to deliver large‑scale capital projects, new contracts and service redesign.

Applicants should have extensive operational management experience with a comprehensive knowledge of the elective pathway and service improvement methodology. We are looking for someone who has experience of coordinating and leading service improvement projects and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams at senior levels both internally and externally.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Degree and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent.
  • Highly specialist and expert project management knowledge and service improvement knowledge acquired through a qualification or relevant experience.
  • Sustained record of continued professional development.
  • Master’s qualification or equivalent (or working towards same).

Experience

  • Significant experience of managing complex, large‑scale and high‑profile projects.
  • Experience in operating in and managing diverse multidisciplinary team.

Skills & Abilities

  • Effective use of influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical and data‑evaluation skills, with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong grasp of managing project finances and budgets.
  • Ability to form excellent relationships with a wide stakeholder base.
