Building Surveyor

Due to continued success and business growth, our highly experienced, talented team of surveyors are seeking a new Building Surveyor team member to join their progressive, growing practice.

They specialise in delivering high-quality residential surveys across London and the surrounding areas.

About You

  • Qualified or nearly qualified Residential Surveyor
  • RICS accredited, or working towards accreditation through the SAVA Diploma route or University course
  • Alternatively have a property and construction background
  • Looking to transition from estate agency, property management, asset management, or other surveying disciplines
  • Good knowledge of residential construction, building pathology, and defect diagnosis

  • Demonstrating strong communication skills, technical curiosity, professionalism, and a genuine interest in residential buildings and defect analysis
  • Maintaining professionalism when dealing with clients, estate agents, and contractors
  • Being detail-oriented, commercially aware, and capable of balancing technical accuracy with practical advice
  • Confident in producing written reports to a high standard
  • Professional presentation and conduct
  • Ability to work both within a team and independently to manage workload effectively
  • Commitment to joining an independent practice with large scope for career development

What You Will Be Doing

  • Undertaking Level 2 and Level 3 residential inspections
  • Producing clear, accurate, and detailed survey reports under RICS template
  • Identifying building defects and recommending appropriate remedial action
  • Liaising professionally with clients and agents
  • Managing workload and inspection schedules efficiently
  • Supporting selective Party Wall matters where required
  • Maintaining compliance with RICS professional standards and ethics

  • Ability to identify materials and defects clearly, assessing risk proportionately
  • Clearly communicating findings in a professional and client-friendly manner
  • Able to complete high quality, detailed, survey reports
