About Cherry Ward
Cherry Ward functions as an 18 bedded mixed sex acute ward for adults of working age (18-65yrs). The ward successfully opened in the midst of the COVID‑19 pandemic and since opening, our well developed, diverse and high achieving nursing team have received high praise. Cherry Ward takes pride on being a therapies driven acute inpatient ward where we focus on utilising least restrictive therapeutic approaches to caring for our service users.

Training & Development
We are keen to develop our Staff Nurses; you will receive relevant training and supervision, develop close links with multi‑agency services in Bristol, and you may be able to rotate into other areas of Bristol inpatient services. Cherry Ward offers opportunities around career development, taking on lead roles to support the development of the team and service delivery, and we also welcome our staff to seek additional training opportunities to meet their interests, e.g. working with learning disabilities, dual diagnosis and furthering continued professional and academic development. You will be supported as a practice assessor/practice supervisor for students and be actively encouraged to be a vital part of student nurses learning and development.
Diversity & Equality
At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds; we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.
