Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Head Vet to lead a brand-new purpose-built veterinary surgery from its opening day. This is a rare opportunity to take full clinical ownership of a new practice, shape the culture and clinical standards, and build a high-performing veterinary team within one of the UK’s largest independent veterinary groups.

The role combines hands‑on first‑opinion veterinary work with genuine leadership responsibility, offering the chance to influence how the practice develops from the ground up. Responsibilities

• Leading and mentoring the clinical team within the new surgery
• Delivering high‑quality first‑opinion medicine and surgery
• Establishing and maintaining strong clinical governance standards
• Building relationships with clients and the surrounding community
• Supporting team development, workflow management, and practice growth

Qualifications

• Veterinary degree eligible for registration in the United Kingdom
• Strong small animal general practice experience
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Passion for clinical excellence and team development
