Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Intern – Flexible Pipe Systems Team
Role based out of Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK). This internship is part of Baker Hughes’ Internship Program designed to provide hands‑on experience to university students or recent graduates pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Responsibilities
- Participating in technically focused training and team meetings
- Completing internal projects to deliver customer outcomes, identify business improvements and present results
- Receiving coaching and mentoring to enable completion of assignments and projects and develop learning and skillset
- Learning internal software for project completion and task management
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams and interns to network with global business leaders
- Applying Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures to ensure compliance
- Contributing to a cross‑functional team focused on improving manufacturing/inspection processes and systems
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
- In final or penultimate year of studies
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Legal right to work without restrictions
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerApps)
- Knowledge of SolidWorks is an advantage
- Interest in industrial or design engineering
- Effective communication skills across all company levels, including mid‑tier management and senior leadership
- Understanding of Lean tools and capability studies (CP, CPK) for statistically designed experiments in factory conditions
