Salary: Up to £55,000 p/a

Working Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm

The Role: Assembly Team Leader

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assembly Team Leader to oversee the day‑to‑day activities of our Assembly & Test Technicians. You will ensure that build and test work is delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role combining people management, operational planning, process ownership and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities of the Assembly Team Leader

• Plan and allocate assembly and test work to ensure safe, timely and high‑quality delivery.
• Re‑plan and remove blockers as priorities evolve in a fast‑moving development environment.
• Own and improve scheduling and resourcing so technicians always have a clear, achievable work pipeline.
• Develop, maintain and improve work instructions and SOPs to ensure consistent, robust processes.
• Drive continuous improvement and uphold quality and H&S standards with a “right first time” mindset.
• Support technicians with build/test issues, escalation and capability development.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience leading assembly, test or manufacturing technician teams in a fast‑paced development environment.
• Hands‑on experience running day‑to‑day operations in lab‑based hardware test environments.
• Strong capability in planning and allocating work in a shifting‑priority setting, including capacity planning.
• Demonstrated leadership in 5S, Lean or continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Experience creating and maintaining SOPs, work instructions and operational documentation.
