Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Overview
A well‑established food manufacturer in Leeds is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a tight‑knit maintenance team on a stable, growing site. The team focuses on planned maintenance, reliability improvement and continuous improvement, working with real‑time data to maintain high standards of service and safety.
Responsibilities
- Work across automated food processing lines, fault‑finding on motors, drives, sensors and PLC‑controlled systems.
- Provide mechanical support for pneumatics, hydraulics and packaging lines.
- Manage Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules, permit‑to‑work and safe isolation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, including BRC accreditation.
Equipment familiar with
- Electrical: motors, drives, sensors, control panels, PLCs
- Mechanical: pneumatics, hydraulics, food processing and packaging lines
- Systems: PPM schedules, permit‑to‑work, safe isolation, food safety compliance
Qualifications
- Background in maintenance engineering within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similarly fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Strong electrical fault‑finding ability, including motors, drives, sensors and control panels.
- PLC fault‑finding experience.
- Mechanical skills covering pneumatics and hydraulics.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent time‑served apprenticeship in Engineering.
